Rooted in values that come from its founding on the frontlines of HIV/AIDS in the 1980s, ASGCC provides a range of services for people living with HIV, sexual health services to prevent new infections, and harm reduction services to support those in our community who use substances. ASGCC has two service sites in Provincetown, including the Drop-in Center that offers HIV/STI testing. ASGCC also has offices in Hyannis, Falmouth, and Vineyard Haven. All services are free and confidential.

The Local Journalism Project is the nonprofit partner of the Provincetown Independent, working to rebuild local journalism from the grassroots. This is something LJP believes is essential to democracy. Restoring local journalism means rebuilding capacity. With both summer and winter fellowships, editorial seminars, and financial support for reporters, the Local Journalism Project is engaging a new generation of writers and photographers in the work, ethics, and promise of excellent newsroom practice.

Camp Lightbulb celebrates LGBTQ+ youth, aged 14 to 18, with magical summer camp experiences filled with fun, pride, community, friends, support, self-discovery, and memories to last a lifetime. They host camps online and in Provincetown, New York City, and Los Angeles, each with vibrant and inclusive communities, allowing to create happy and safe spaces where campers are connected and inspired.

Based in Provincetown, The Center for Coastal Studies is known around the globe for groundbreaking humpback and right whale research as well as marine animal entanglement response programs. CCS scientists and educators lead local, national and international efforts to keep our oceans and coastlines clean & safe. They work with commercial fisheries to develop sustainable fishing practices and adapt to the evolving marine environment.

Immigration Equality is the nation’s leading LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrant rights organization. In about 70 countries it is a crime to be LGBTQ. They currently represent hundreds of asylum seekers and families all over the country, while maintaining a remarkable 99% win rate, and also work in both policy and impact litigation to further advocate for LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants.

Indivisible Mass Coalition (IMC) supports local groups working together for racial justice, immigrant rights, climate change mitigation, voting rights, criminal justice reform, healthcare rights and many other issues. IMC helps connect groups who have knowledge of specific issues with grassroots support to help get valuable legislation passed locally and nationally. IMC is committed to informing people with the necessary tools to engage in our democracy.

Athlete Ally believes sport will change the world when it welcomes and empowers all people. As a leading national nonprofit working at the intersection of sport and LGBTQI+ equality, Athlete Ally works to end the structural and systemic oppression that isolates, excludes and endangers LGBTQI+ people in sport. They work to ensure sport governing bodies, teams and leagues adopt policies that reflect the diversity of their constituents while incubating athlete activism to advance LGBTQI+ equality in and through sport.

Summer of Sass transforms lives by relocating LGBTQI 18-20 yr olds from oppressive areas in the US to the welcoming community of Provincetown, MA. For years we have been telling young queers “It Gets Better.”
Summer of Sass takes the message one step further by showing the next generation what better looks like.

Founded in 2008, by Jesse Pack later joined by Chastity Bowick, the Transgender Emergency Fund is the only organization dedicated to supporting low income and homeless Transgender individuals in Massachusetts. The Transgender Emergency Fund assists with homelessness prevention, shelter assistance, nutrition assistance, prescription co-pay assistance, transportation and escort to medical appointments.

Family Equality advances legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ families, and for those who wish to form them, through building community, changing hearts and minds, and driving policy change. Family Equality believes every LGBTQ+ person should have the right and opportunity to form and sustain a loving family, regardless of who they are or where they live.

Seguimos Adelante is a grassroots non-profit organization founded in 2019 in direct response to rapid changes in U.S. immigration policy. With thousands of asylum-seekers being returned to Mexico without vital resources or a clear path forward, Seguimos Adelante teams travel daily from El Paso, Texas to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico to provide asylum-seekers with essential supplies and services.

Rainbow Railroad helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQI) people escape violence and persecution in their home countries. They have helped individuals from the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East relocate to safer countries in Europe and North America. Since their founding in 2006, Rainbow Railroad has helped more than 800 individuals find a path to safety to start a new life — free from persecution.

The Provincetown Conservation Trust preserves the woods, wetlands, dunes and forests of Provincetown, along with the great variety of flora and fauna that call them home. Founded in 1980, the PCT is an essential player in safeguarding Provincetown’s threatened natural habitats, which serve as an important Greenway for migrating birds, key links in the wildlife corridors of Cape Cod, and a vital component of the ecological health of the United States Eastern Seaboard.

The Generations Project preserves the history of the LGBTQ+ movement through intergenerational storytelling. Since LGBTQ+ history has a history of being forgotten, we are dedicated to capturing the stories of Provincetown as a historic LGBTQ+ destination. Now until Fall 2021, The Generations Project is building the Provincetown 400 Time Capsule, a physical manifestation of LGBTQ+ communities in Provincetown.

The Provincetown Commons supports creative professionals, artists, small enterprise, scientific and technological projects, and community initiatives through collaborative workspace, shared resources, and educational programs, and economic development initiatives. Through the development and management of accessible space and resources, The Commons serves as a nexus for collaboration, vibrant relationships, and new economic opportunity for creative people in Provincetown.
